The Margo AirScare Inflatable Deterrent is a human-sized effigy that rapidly inflates in a jack-in-the-box motion to scare off problem birds. The unit can also be easily staked into the ground to prevent base movement in windy conditions. The collapsible inner guide pole allows for operation in 0-40km/h (0-25mi/hr) winds.
The Design
Birds are effectively deterred by UV-reflective materials, bright colours, and scare eye patterns, making the design an important feature of the Margo Airscare. The bird scare pattern along with reflective tassels and scare eyes effectively signals to birds that they are not in a safe area. We used durable UV and water-resistant ripstop nylon fabric so the unit can withstand time outdoors.
The control box uses the same programmable interface as our Margo Electra Cannons and offers the option to use High-Frequency Radio Control (purchased separately) for up to 16km (9mi) line of sight range for remote firing.
The Margo AirScare uses a 12V battery and is solar-power compatible with the Solar Case Kit.
